Reach Out and Read
Primary Care Providers at Coulee Medical Center are proud to be a part of this incredible early reading program that helps prepare young children to succeed in school.
Reach Out and Read is a program focused on parenting and early literacy. It aims to prepare children for kindergarten by collaborating with doctors to prescribe books and promote family reading.
CMC’s medical providers incorporate the Reach Out and Read approach into well-child checkups for children aged 6 months to 5 years. During these checkups, families receive a book to promote language and literacy, which in turn supports their child’s development at home.
